Every year, our Raritan Valley Work Center gathers to honor our program participants with a night of food, music, and congratulations. This year’s theme was “Unmask Your Potential.” Along with Harlequin inspired centerpieces, masks were provided to all the guests. The theme reflects how people with disabilities and special needs are showing the world that they refuse to be underestimated. By working with Easterseals New Jersey’s NJ Packaging and File Save Imaging businesses, they have shown the true value of their work and have the paychecks to prove it.
In addition to delicious food provided by Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, there was a silent auction, where amazing prizes went to the highest bidders. We also brought in a local DJ to pump out the tunes. Program participants, business partners, supporters, and community leaders came dined and danced the night away, side by side. The festivities were presided over MC and friend of Easterseals New Jersey, Burt Baron of WCTC AM radio. Then, we took time for an awards presentation where we presented our employees and corporate partners with well-deserved honors. Sivaraman Anbarasan “Anbar” – Executive Director of the New Jersey Community College Consortium (NJCC) for Workforce & Economic Development won the Clark J. Paradise award. And Dr. Leonard’s Healthcare Catalog won Employer of the Year.
This opportunity, of course, is wouldn’t be possible without the support of the businesses with which we work. Without them agreeing to trust Easterseals New Jersey and our program participants with their packaging, assembly, and data storage needs, there would be no work to do. No money to pay our participants. And no reason to celebrate all that we have accomplished together. Through our combined efforts, we have strengthened New Jersey’s economic future, making sure manufacturing business and jobs are here to stay.
